Manuscript dateline "8th month 29th day", or Meiji 5.8.29 (1 October 1872). Alongside, vermilion framed "Gose machi / postal receiving and handling agency".

A scarce and elegant provincial cover, notable for the attractive tensho-style Gose cancellation.
